As I sit here writing this, I am full of all sorts of emotions: Gratitude, Happiness, Sadness, and Excitement. It really has been a very busy month.
Gratitude: For the support of all of my family and friends. I can not believe that in just over a month I have raised over $30,000! I am truly blown away by this. I am heading stateside soon, and when I return to the Dominican Republic I will begin the search for a new vehicle!
Happiness: My friends Hannah and Alejandro just had their twin babies. One boy and one girl were born healthy and are a month old now.

Sadness: Some of you may recall me telling you about the 10 month old baby weighing 6 pounds. He was brought to the capital and seen by multiple different doctors. They couldn't seem to find what was wrong with him. He started to get better, but then began vomiting again. His mother decided to take him back home to be with their family in Haiti. Sadly, he passed away the next morning. I am asking you to continue to pray for the family, especially his mother; this is her only child.
Excitement: We are also in the beginning stages of a new project. In June, we had a small team from California come down to do some investigating on a water project in the mountain. They will be helping bring clean drinking water to the community of Rosa la Piedra and to our medical clinic! Plans are all drawn up, and water is currently being tested in the community. Once this is completed we can officially begin the project!
This week we have another volunteer team coming down! The group is led by my good friend Cassie! We will be spending the week cleaning and organizing El Chivo (our preschool) and getting it ready for classes to start in September. We will also be holding mobile medical clinics. I am very excited to have another team and to see some familiar faces!
I am looking forward to a couple of weeks with my family!
Prayers:
For the team who will be working with us this coming week
For the mother of the 10 month old boy
For my friends Hannah, Alejandro and their new babies
Praying for you as well Kailey. There are definitely seasons that are heavy to carry. Sending love and praying that your time stateside can be encouraging and restful!
