I have several fun updates to share with you.
At the end of August, my mother and I managed to pull off surprising my entire family when I flew stateside for my dad’s 60th birthday. We gathered at my brother Alex’s house to celebrate. It was a day filled with food, games, laughter, and family!

While I was stateside, we loaded the sea container with all of the donations that had been collected!! How incredible it was to see everything in person and not just look at pictures and videos! The sea container loading day was amazing. I was blown away by how many items were donated, and how many people showed up to help us load! I am so very thankful to everyone who came out that day to help! The sea container arrived at the Dominican port mid September!! We are still waiting for it to be released to us, because of course nothing is quick and easy… but it should be any day now!! Updates and pictures to come of unloading!
My trip home was just two weeks long so unfortunately I wasn’t able to see as many people as I would have liked.
I got back to the Dominican in early September and ended up with COVID. I was down and out for a couple of weeks, but I am slowly getting back to normal now. I am very thankful for my puppies who kept me company during my isolation, and for my good friends who checked on me and brought me food!
For the past two years, I have shared living arrangements with two other missionaries, who work for another organization. During Cora and Terry’s most recent visit, they both got the opportunity to go up the mountain and work in the clinic with us! It was great to have the extra help and for them to see our clinic in operation. Currently, we have been operating the clinic at least one day per week!

Construction has continued to move along SLOWLY. We are getting so close to the clinic and the volunteer house being done. All of the rooms that were sponsored last summer have tiles, windows and doors!! It is amazing how different it looks now that they have been installed! We are about to launch a fundraiser to raise money for the security wall which will surround the clinic and house. (Look for details on fundraiser this week!) Once the security wall is up, then we can get the solar panels installed that were donated by Good Shepard Church in California!
Prayers:
For the missionaries in Haiti who have been kidnapped and for all of the people suffering in Haiti
For the children that we have brought down the mountain to recuperate.
For the final completion of the construction of the clinic and house.
Thanks for the update. Be safe. God is good.
