We had our first mission support group come down to the DR since COVID began. A small team from Saint Mary’s in Pinckney, Michigan came down in February!! It was so great to have volunteers again. We spent the majority of the week up in the mountains at our Clinic in Rosa la Piedra working on cleaning, painting, organizing, and we ran a full fledged clinic on Thursday!! That day we saw many sick patients and were able to bring a child back to their family that had been recuperating at the Sisters of Charity. The mission team was able to paint the entire medical staff house and get it all set up! We even began painting a few walls inside of the clinic!
In the beginning of February we ordered the solar panels! The company we selected came out in early March and installed the battery system in the basement. We have finally completed the security wall/fence around the Clinic and Medical Staff house last week. We now officially have power!!! These last couple of days the solar company has been busy installing the solar panels on the roof. Half of the panels are installed and the other half will be installed by next week. It is going to be so nice to have lights on while we work!
Luna turned 3! I can't believe it. She has been such a blessing for me especially the past 2 years with the Covid lockdowns and curfews. I also celebrated my 30th birthday recently. My brother Alex was in Ireland with his wife Haley so for the first time ever us triplets were in 3 different countries on our birthday. I received a very special birthday video from my friend Jessica Carlile. It had birthday greetings from many of my family and friends. It was very touching, and I will always cherish it.
One of my very good friends Cassie came to visit for a week in April. We organized, cleaned, worked at the clinic, and spent the weekend in the capital relaxing. I am so thankful for all of the meds that she brought, which we used to restock at least part of our very empty pharmacy. We also went up to one of our outlying communities, Dos Bocas, to check on one of our kiddos, Mileyka. She is one of our kiddos in the mountain who was in the nutrition program and suffered from epilepsy. Sadly we were informed that she died at the end of February.

This year at the Easter Vigil mass I became a Godmother to my second Godchild, Celine. It was a beautiful Catholic mass, and I feel so honored to be able to walk by her in her faith journey!
We are so excited for our next mission support team to come down on May 9th!! They will be doing medical clinics along with a veterinary clinic. Please pray that they have safe travels!
Thank you all for your ongoing support of my missionary work here in the D.R. Your prayers and financial support have been such a blessing.
Prayer intentions:
For the soul of Mileyka, and comfort and peace for her family.
For Jessica and the Carlile family as they are expecting their fifth baby any day now.
For a safe and productive trip for our May mission support team.
Wonderful news! Please let us know how to help get meds for the clinic. We pray God makes supplies available as there is need. May He break down any barriers that the devil exerts. Hallelujah!
