This year has come and gone so fast. I honestly do not know how we got to September already. We finished off our summer season with three groups back to back to back! It was busy but great.
We ran multiple mobile medical clinics, elderly home visits, brought children down the mountain to the Sisters of Charity, reunited children with their families, organized our pharmacy, just to name a few things. This summer I was also
blessed with the presence of Cassie. She was our volunteer coordinator this summer and went above and beyond helping us!
In the business of clinics I sometimes forget to appreciate the small things in life. The week
that I got back from the United States we had a clinic up in Rosa la Piedra, and we brought
two little kiddos home to their families.

The smile on the mothers’ faces when they saw their children again was heartwarming! The next day one of the mothers returned to bring me rice, beans, and tayota, which is like a squash. That same day, another mother whose child had been home for a month now brought me tayota as well. They kept saying, “Thank you for bringing my child back healthy. I am sorry I don’t have more to give you.” One of the ladies even tried to bring me back a chicken.
I now have two dogs. You may remember me telling you about Galleta! She is wonderful, however spends all of her time in Palo Saco. She has been a little naughty and tries to eat the chickens!!

I recently got another dog named Luna. She is a Golden Shepard. She is 6 months old.... And a lot to handle. I decided to get another dog to keep me company and for protection at my house in San Juan. She has been a great companion, slightly over-protective at times, and the best travel buddy back and forth from work!
