THE CLINIC OF HOPE CONSTRUCTION IS NOW OFFICIALLY COMPLETED!

We are excited that we are now focusing on building the outer security wall, installing the solar panels and painting the clinic. Thank you for all of your financial support and prayers over the past 3 years to make this a reality.

Sea Container

The sea container was finally released through customs in the first week of November. MACAPI, the avocado farm in the mountains, used their trucks to help us bring up all of the furniture, medical equipment, supplies, etc… It is so great to be able to use all of the donations and see the clinic come to life! We are so thankful for all of the efforts and support of everyone involved.

Medical Clinics

Currently, we are going up the mountain every Thursday, and each time we are seeing and treating between 40 and 100 patients. Recently, two doctors from the capital, Santo Domingo, volunteered their time to serve with us. The two doctors brought along another volunteer with them, who is an engineer and paints Van Gogh paintings. While we were running the clinic, he painted one of Van Gogh's paintings, The Sunflower, on our waiting room wall.

Partnering with Other Missionary Organizations

Back in November Building Bridges of Hope volunteered to work with another non profit called Fundación Cierto Futuro. They focus on building homes, caring for the environment, and providing for those communities in most need in the Dominican Republic. The day we were there, we ran a children's nutrition program. Then they invited us back for another day and we held medical consultations in the city of Hondo Valle. It was great to partner with another organization!

New Living Arrangements

I live in a house in San Juan with other missionaries from Solid Rock International. Recently, we had to relocate to another house. I am so thankful for my Dominican friends and fellow missionaries who came and helped us move! The best parts of the new house is the increased security, and a bigger backyard which my dogs Coco and Luna really enjoy.

Holidays

This year I spent the Thanksgiving and Christmas in the Dominican Republic. It is always hard not being with my family over the holidays, but I was able to celebrate with my Dominican families. On Christmas Eve, I celebrated at Dr. Angel's house with his family. Christmas Day, I was able to spend all day with Adam and Jessica Carlile and their children.

Mission Support Teams

We are so excited that we are finally going to have three Mission Support teams come work with us. One team each in February, March, and April. We are very excited to start receiving teams again! They will be able to help us hold additional medical clinics and possibly paint more of the clinic walls. Please keep them and us in your prayers that they are able to come at their planned time.

Prayer requests

For the communities in the mountain that we have not been able to provide medical care.

For the completion of the outer security wall.

For the successful installation of the solar panels.

For our upcoming teams that are able to come and serve with us.
